As the author and illustrator, this children’s book project has been an absolute joy! I hope your little ones love it and think about how God also felt creating Them!
God, Did You Have Fun Creating Birds?

I’ve added a coloring book with all of my collage birds as a companion to my children’s book.
God Made Birds Coloring Book

Due to be published later this year, this book has also been so much fun to work on. In contrast to my paper birds, I've been painting these illustrations in acrylic paint and editing them digitally. I cannot wait for it to be published! The authors words are so sweet and I know this Christian children's book is going to touch many little hearts.
COMING SOON!

Each bird was created one-at-a-time over the course of 2 years, made from painted paper collage.

While painting paper, I usually had no idea how I might use each piece; I was simply enjoying painting colors and creating textures. I filled a file cabinet with lots of colors and a full value range, organized neatly in file folders. when it was time to collage another bird, I had a lot of collage fodder to choose from.

I'm loving creating all these lovely birds! Check out my blog to see more! Or follow me on Instagram/Facebook.
Jesus Has Nicknames?: Manny the Sheep Introduces Young Children to Biblical Symbolism - Picture book available on Amazon!
This book is an adaptation from a Sunday School lesson I wrote and taught children for many years. I understood that Jesus’ favorite way to teach was by using parables and metaphors, thus giving pictures to His listeners. So, I wrote a lesson introducing some of the pictures–the symbols–the Bible gives us about Jesus. He is the Rock, the Bread of Life, and the Lion of Judah, to name a few. Each symbol shows us attributes of who Jesus is.
That lesson wound up becoming one of my favorites to teach! I firmly believe those images were planted in children's little souls to help them remember who Jesus is throughout their lives, as pictures are powerful messages, each one worth a thousand words!
I’ve now rewritten and illustrated that idea into this book for little ones, up to 8 years old. Even though young children might not know how to read or write well, they already understand picture language. What better way to teach them about Jesus than to show them who He is in picture form?
Manny the Sheep narrates the story and begins by talking about his own name and nicknames. Next, he tells how Jesus also has nicknames of sorts written in the Bible: Lion of Judah, Lamb of God, the Word. Manny concludes with telling the children he calls Jesus his best friend and says, "He can be your best friend, too! Ask Him to come into your heart as your Savior, and He will be with you everywhere you go!"
